What do the letters CRS, CBR, and GRI mean?

Each of these designations mean that the person who has earned them is a professional in his field. Your home purchase is likely the biggest purchase decision you will ever make.   • CRS – Certified Residential Specialist, an award given to experienced REALTORS® who have completed advanced professional training and demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate.
  • CBR – Certified Buyer Representative, an agent specially trained to professionally represent buyers in their real estate transaction. The CBR® Certified Buyer Representative designation allows consumers to identify real estate agents who have been trained to be in their corner.  Buyers can be sure these agents will represent them in a legal, ethical, and non-adversarial fashion.  These agents are armed with the right experience and training, as well as the forms, disclosures and other documents which allow them unparalleled service to their buyer clients.
  • GRI – Graduate, REALTOR® Institute , awarded to member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who has completed a course of study and shown a commitment to apply that knowledge consistent with the Code of Ethics. REALTORS® with the GRI designation have in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards, and the sales process.
  • SRES – Seniors Real Estate Specialist, a REALTOR® who has special knowledge of managing the sale of a home for those over the age of 50.
